How music can literally heal the heart


In an article for Scientific Americanpianist-mathematician Prof Elaine Chew (French National Centre for Scientific Research, Paris, France), Prof Pier Lambiase (University College London Institute of Cardiovascular Science and Barts Heart Center, London, UK), and colleagues report that music's structural attributes and physiological effects make it an ideal tool for learning cardiology; studying heart-brain interactions; and dispensing neuro-cardiac therapy.
