Arrhythmia Alliance set for ground-breaking virtual Patients Day
Arrhythmia Alliance and its sister charities will launch the first virtual Patients Day on September 27th, 2020, with thousands of heart rhythm patients and healthcare specialists set to be in attendance.
The largest gathering of its kind in the world, the online event will connect patients and arrhythmia specialists to educate, inform, and provide a platform for patients and healthcare professionals to exchange ideas.
The unique gathering will bring together people with cardiac arrhythmias, including Atrial Fibrillation, Syncope, and Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS), under one banner, with attendees granted access to a vast library of pre-recorded presentations from world-renowned specialists.
Organised by patient-led charity Arrhythmia Alliance, Patients Day will take place during the annual Heart Rhythm Congress which launches on September 27th, 2020, when leading figures from over 150 national and international faculty ensembles virtually to present and discuss cutting-edge research.
Trudie Lobban MBE, Founder and Trustee of Arrhythmia Alliance said: “We have been delivering Arrhythmia Alliance Patients Day for nearly three decades, and as a charity, we were adamant that 2020 would be no different.
“What started as a huge challenge with COVID-19 has turned into a fantastic opportunity for us to reach more people impacted by cardiac arrhythmias and to create an unparalleled resource for patients and healthcare professionals alike.
“COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of technology for bringing patients and doctors together, and we look forward to welcoming all attendees virtually when the charity marks this new first later this month.”
With all the presentations and videos available for 12 months, attendees will be able to access the resources that interest them at a convenient time from the comfort of their own home, for only £10.
Moreover, patients can also speak with the charity's dedicated Patient Services Team and learn about the latest technology, without the need to worry about travel or social distancing.
Registration for the Heart Rhythm Congress, including Patients Day, is now open, and can be accessed here.
