NICE is looking for people with personal experience of atrial fibrillation monitoring after a stroke of unknown cause to help develop guidance for the NHS.

NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) is looking for people with personal experience of atrial fibrillation monitoring after a stroke of unknown cause to help develop guidance for the NHS. The technologies being looked at provide heart beat monitoring after someone has had a stroke, to check whether the stroke could be due to undiagnosed atrial fibrillation.

This week, Eastern Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) is celebrating a key milestone in our atrial fibrillation programme.

Over the past 6 months we have been supporting NHS England’s national rollout of mobile ECG devices and providing technology across the east of England to prevent 500 strokes and save 125 more lives. This is all part of the national drive to improve the detection of atrial fibrillation, the most common heart rhythm disorder.

World Heart Rhythm Week 2018 - Take Fainting to Heart

The first Heart Rhythm Week pioneered by the Arrhythmia Alliance UK was celebrated in 2004. The organization has been actively striving through its campaigns to promote early diagnosis and treatment as well as improve quality of life of persons affected by arrhythmias.
