When you have been diagnosed with a heart condition it can be very difficult and expensive to find travel insurance. Below is a list of insurers whom Arrhythmia Alliance has found to be sympathetic to travellers who have a heart condition, alternatively download our travel insurance providers sheet here.

Ok To Travel. It is important that you have adequate travel insurance in place before you travel which covers your pre-existing medical conditions. Most standard travel insurance policies do not provide this type of cover. Ok To Travel specialise in covering pre-existing conditions and all medical conditions are considered, they also have no upper age limits. Top tip: Don’t forget to take your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) when travelling in Europe.
An EHIC will enable you to access state-provided healthcare in European Economic Area (EEA) countries, at a reduced cost, or sometimes for free. It will cover your treatment until you return to the UK. It also covers treatment of pre-existing medical conditions however the card is not an alternative to travel insurance.

Upon diagnosis of a health condition, you should always refer to the DVLA for the latest driving guidelines and restrictions. Their website is regularly updated and will list the numerous conditions.
