Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is an irregular heartbeat that can indicate malfunction in the heart’s “electrical” system. It is the most common type of abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia), affecting more than 2.7 million Americans.

A Complete List of Atrial Fibrillation Medications

People with AFib may have an abnormal heart rhythm on a continuous basis. Or they may only have episodes when their heart beats irregularly. Fortunately, there are many treatments for AFib. These include medications as well as surgical or catheter procedures to help stop the arrhythmia.

Carolee Winstein, professor at the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy and lead author of the guidelines, helps develop the first stroke rehab guidelines endorsed by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Society of Neurorehabilitation.
