Arrhythmia Alliance Cardiac Update Meetings

 

For Medical Professionals

Our cardiac update meetings are for all healthcare professionals involved in the management and treatment of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. These meetings provide a platform for education, as well as sharing best practice and information on topics such as device and drug treatments, atrial fibrillation and syncope. In addition these meetings will be an opportunity to network locally with healthcare professionals in all areas of cardiac service provision, academic institutions and professional bodies.

For 2018 the agenda will cover topics such as:

 

  • Identifying the undiagnosed person – Which ECG is Best For Your Patient

  • Syncope and falls

  • Inherited Cardiac Arrhythmias (Long QT, Brugada, CPVT etc.)

  • Nurse led clinics 

  • Anticoagulation therapy to protect from an AF-related stroke – Medication interactions

  • Risk factors of developing heart failure with AF – What are the treatment options?

  • Weight management and AF

  • NICE and ESC guidance for devices to correct the arrhythmia

  • Interactive session (whole group discussion) – Perfecting the patient care pathways 

  • How does our region compare to the rest of the UK
