Update - On Thursday 8th October, HealthTec at Baverstock Academy trained their first cohort of Heart Rhythm Ambassadors (HRAs).
The fourteen HRAs spent the day learning key life-saving skills, including how to deliver high quality CPR and use an external automated defibrillator, in order to prepare them to provide crucial care for individuals who suffer a sudden cardiac arrest.
The HRA’s will now be raising awareness of the dangers posed by heart arrhythmias and other conditions, and training more people both within school and from across the local community to deliver CPR and use the new defibrillator sited at the front of the Academy, starting with the Baverstock Open Evening on October 1st. This will ensure that as many people as possible are given the chance to learn these vital skills, which could potentially save people’s lives in the future.
