NHS launches consultation on ICP contracts

The 12 week consultation will be from Friday August 3 to Friday October 26 and people can give their views on line or by post. NHS England will also hold engagement events during the consultation period to listen to stakeholders’ views.

CPR & AED Awareness to Be Added to the UK National School Curriculum following tireless work of Arrhythmia Alliance

Lifesaving first aid, including education on the purpose of defibrillators (AED’s) and when they need to be used, is set to be introduced into the national school curriculum. Following years of campaigns, such as the Arrhythmia Alliance - Defibs Save Lives campaign, the draft regulations could be introduced by 2020.

How GPs are preventing thousands of strokes in the UK

On its 70th anniversary, there is good news from the NHS. About 7,000 strokes have been prevented, per year, thanks to GPs getting better at identifying people with a common form of heart arrhythmia known as atrial fibrillation and thanks to more of these people being prescribed anticoagulant drugs.
